Global International Airways began operations late in 1978 flying cargo charters. Passenger charters began on February 15, 1981. The airline filed for bankruptcy on October 20, 1983 but flew until the FAA grounded the airline on December 23rd for maintenance reasons. The airline resumed flying February, 1984 but found that it was unable to reorganize and ceased operation in 1985.
